Die Tu(n) WAs Das Forschungsprojekt TuWAs konzentriert sich auf Unternehmen, die heute Baugruppen und Teile für den Verbrennungsmotor fertigen und den Wandel zur Elektromobilität bewältigen müssen. Mit Vernetzungsangeboten sowie dem strukturierten Transfer von Forschungs- und Entwicklungsergebnissen auf tuwas-hub.de unterstützt TuWAs diese Unternehmen bei der Gestaltung ihrer Transformation. Dreh- und Angelpunkt des Projekts ist der TuWAs-Transformationshub, eine branchenoffene, frei zugängliche Plattform, die den Transformationsprozess von Unternehmen des Antriebsstrangs über die gesamte Wertschöpfungskette hinweg unterstützt. Fünf Projektpartner (TU München, RWTH Aachen, Fachhochschule Südwestfalen, Fraunhofer IWU & Heinz Nixdorf Institut) bündeln ihr Wissen und ihre Kompetenzen, analysieren den Transformationsbedarf, strukturieren Forschungs- und Entwicklungsergebnisse und überführen diese in für die Praxis anwendbare Formate. Darüber hinaus agieren die Projektpartner an ihren Standorten als lokale Schaufenster und bieten in der Region ansässigen Unternehmen eine leicht erreichbare Anlaufstelle für alle Fragen zum Strukturwandel.

In the context of stricter regulations and growing social expectations, many companies are striving to achieve ambitious targets for reducing emissions. In doing so, they face considerable challenges, particularly in the product development phase, which largely determines the subsequent environmental impact. Studies show that around 80% of future environmental impacts are already determined in the planning and development phase. Two approaches have particular potential to reduce emissions and conserve resources: the circular economy and efficient product operation. The circular economy makes it possible to close material and resource cycles, minimize new production and use resources sustainably. At the same time, the operation of products requires optimization in terms of efficiency and resource conservation. Digital technologies play a key role in both areas, as they enable innovative approaches and solutions. This is precisely where the GoProZero project comes in: The aim is to design the product creation process holistically in order to develop resource-efficient and recyclable products that meet the requirements of a modern, sustainable and digitalized industry. To this end, approaches to strategic planning, the design of processes and organizations and the use of digital technologies such as model-based design, data infrastructures and AI-supported systems are being developed. At the same time, the implementation of the project goals is ensured in practical lighthouse projects in order to address specific problems of the partner companies and establish innovative solutions. Through this comprehensive approach, GoProZero supports companies in reducing emissions, using resources efficiently and strengthening their competitiveness in a more sustainable industry.

The KMU.kompetent.sicher project supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in implementing the increased requirements of the NIS 2 directive in the area of IT security. SMEs face challenges such as a lack of IT expertise, weak strategies and low risk awareness, which makes it difficult to manage security risks. Building on the predecessor projects ITS.Competent and KMU.Einfach Sicher., the project aims to develop an integrated NIS-2 competence platform. This will help to raise awareness of IT security, implement targeted measures and promote a sustainable IT security culture. The aim is to qualify managers and employees in line with requirements through practice-oriented approaches and a stronger focus on corporate culture. This is to be achieved through suitable, digital, modular learning units based on competency tests on the topic of IT security, which are aligned with the NIS-2 directive and prepared didactically and in terms of media education. The content can be used independently on all devices with an internet connection. Registration and use of the competence platform is free of charge. The "KMU.kompetent.sicher" project is part of Mittelstand-Digital. With the SME Digital Network, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection is supporting digitalization in small and medium-sized enterprises and the skilled trades. How can companies actively shape the digitalization and optimization of their processes? This question was explored in the SME digital transfer project DigiPM. To this end, the foundations of successful business process management were laid and the data analysis tool process mining was used.

Opening up new transfer paths and strengthening interactions Technology transfer from applied research to business practice is a promising approach to shaping current transformation processes. Advanced technologies, methods and processes can be developed through cooperation and transformed into innovative solutions. The partners in the leading-edge cluster it's OWL want to tap into this potential in order to tackle the transformations together and expand the region's competitiveness.

The increasing awareness of sustainability as well as the stricter sustainability legislation increase the pressure on ARI-Armaturen to consider the topic already in the product development. The aim of the project is to enable the company to design its own products more sustainably through knowledge transfer. To this end, an analysis of the carbon footprint of a fitting and other potentials will be carried out. Subsequently, the optimization of sustainability will be focused by defining the target system and concrete measures on product level and implementing them exemplarily. The results are prepared for broad transfer (e.g. guidelines for the design of sustainable products) and made accessible.

In dem Transferpiloten soll ein Predictive Quality System (PQS) entwickelt und im Echtzeitbetrieb eva-luiert werden. Für ein zuverlässiges PQS ist es erforderlich, eine automatisierte Datenverarbeitungs-Pipeline zu implementieren. Weiterhin soll das CMS durch maschinelle Lernverfahren an unterschiedli-che Produktionsanlagen adaptiert werden können. Hierzu sollen Condition Monitoring Verfahren auf der Basis hybrider Prozessmodelle weiterentwickelt und in eine graphische Benutzeroberfläche inte-griert werden. Die Ergebnisse sollen über die Innovationsplattform in einen Transfer überführt werden.

Development methodology for the integration of sustainability aspects in engineering In order to support developers in the design of sustainable systems, there is often a lack of suitable methods. Should an electric motor rather be encapsulated to have a low heat loss or should the motor rather not be encapsulated so that later recycling is easier? Which solution saves the most CO2? The Sustainable Lifecycle Engineering project aims to enable developers and product managers to include sustainability aspects in their decision-making at an early stage of engineering.

Construction companies that manufacture precast reinforced concrete components for industrial and commercial construction have extensive outdoor warehouses where these components are temporarily stored and held. Current warehouse mapping systems and warehouse management processes are largely based on manual processes, which leads to inefficient placements of the precast parts and thus to a warehouse that is not optimally utilized. The transfer project "DeepConcrete" aims to automatically map BREMER AG's outdoor warehouse using camera systems and AI methods. For this purpose, image recordings from cameras on the gantry crane are to be segmented. The automated recording of the warehouse inventory thus enables the implementation of optical monitoring and AI-based warehouse management. The long-term vision of the project is a digital platform for order and goods flow management as well as a digital mapping of the warehouse to optimize customer offers, logistics and production planning.
